Meet Lisa

Met with Lisa today for a real appointment. Did the meet and greet last week where she was able to answer a lot of our questions and help calm some fears.

This week we talked about nutrition. Also peed in a cup (sugar and protein negative), had my weight measured, and she felt my uterus.

That last bit was really great because as I'd told her, I just don't feel pregnant. I do have symptoms, but they're so mild and unnoticeable it just doesn't seem real.

I have sore boobs, really sensitive nipples. I've missed my period and the hpt read positive. That's really all I've got. Everyone keeps talking about morning sickness, but as of today (7w1d) I haven't experienced any. I really don't think I will. I can tell when I haven't eaten in awhile and my body needs something, but besides that, no real other issues. I think my body is proving to be amazing once again. How did I luck out? I'm really appreciative of it and hope I don't take it for granted.

Going to tell the parents next weekend. Ah!

Furniture

Sunday, October 17th.
Looking around our house at how much stuff we have. Furniture needs to get moved or sold, it's getting crowded.

I look at the rocking chair. I don't want to get rid of that. Heck no. "We could put it in the attic? Or give it back to my parents for storage until we have a baby...".

Husband looks at me. "What do you think of having a baby?"

So sad.

Niobe posted this "to-do" on her blog and invited us to follow suit. Here are my "unfortionates".

* Unfortunately, c gives the learner only one or two slow chances at the step, and then quickly moves the step up to tempo.
I can totally see myself doing this, "Don't you get it already?"

* Unfortunately, c's is an attraction for this crowd of space-wasters. Additionally, it is NOT a "Euro Pub" nor is it pub-like at all.
Too bad. I like pubs, apparently we're not to hit up c's not-pub.

* Unfortunately, c will never get better. She no longer has a working stomach, hence the TPN.
Good thing I have a working stomach. Full of cereal and hot chocolate.

* Unfortunately, c and Jenny are black Lab mixes, statistically the last to be adopted and thus, euthanized in shelters everyday.
Wonder why that is. Hyper dogs? We got our dog, Dora, from the shelter.

bullet points

I have too many things to talk about because I've been slacking on posting. There's really no way to tie all these thoughts together, so bullets it is.

- About two weeks ago I was doing some gardening and there were a TON of ants. My plants were also getting eaten so I laid down a little bit of ant killer stuff. I go inside and when I come out again I find my dog hanging in the garden. After much yelling she comes out and I go back to my business of weeding. About an hour later she won't turn her neck to the left- not even for a cookie. Freaks me the fuck out. Husband is going to vet school so I immediately think she has some neurological issue and she must have gotten into the ant killer. Off to the emergency vet we fly. Long story short, doc thinks she just tweeked her neck so he dopes her up on muscle relaxants and pain meds. AHH. Better now.

- Speaking of the garden I was very excited to harvest some lettuce and snap peas. The shelling peas are coming along but haven't filled out yet. The strawberries are turning red and the corn is growing like mad. Things are going really well out there. We also got a shed! With Joe's going out of business there were some amazing sales. One was this shed. It's a canvas one (wasn't too sure about that, but I love it) that you use wing-nuts to assemble. We put it together and oh-my-gosh it was HUGE! Decided to take off one of the leg sections to make it shorter. Much better now, and we never would have been able to do that with a standard wood shed. And we can move it to our next place too. Good stuff.

- I was informed last Wednesday that my contract wasn't going to be renewed for next year. I now have a month to find another job. Surprisingly, I'm not too freaked out about the whole thing. Earlier in the day (before I got the news) I was thinking that I should start looking into something else. I haven't been doing much at work and I seemed kinda superfluous. Checking online there are currently quite a few positions that I'm qualified for so hopefully with my amazing sounding resume' I'll get a few interviews and a job offer. One can hope.

- Over Memorial Day weekend we were able to go rock climbing! I was emailed by my husband on Friday asking if I was interested in climbing and camping. "Umm...okay". So off we went on Saturday morning at 6am for the 3hr drive to the climbing rock. It was tons of fun- getting away from everything and trying something new. And I didn't do too shabby either.

- My scalp is peeling. It does NOT look hot.
