I have too many things to talk about because I've been slacking on posting. There's really no way to tie all these thoughts together, so bullets it is.
- About two weeks ago I was doing some gardening and there were a TON of ants. My plants were also getting eaten so I laid down a little bit of ant killer stuff. I go inside and when I come out again I find my dog hanging in the garden. After much yelling she comes out and I go back to my business of weeding. About an hour later she won't turn her neck to the left- not even for a cookie. Freaks me the fuck out. Husband is going to vet school so I immediately think she has some neurological issue and she must have gotten into the ant killer. Off to the emergency vet we fly. Long story short, doc thinks she just tweeked her neck so he dopes her up on muscle relaxants and pain meds. AHH. Better now.
- Speaking of the garden I was very excited to harvest some lettuce and snap peas. The shelling peas are coming along but haven't filled out yet. The strawberries are turning red and the corn is growing like mad. Things are going really well out there. We also got a shed! With Joe's going out of business there were some amazing sales. One was this shed. It's a canvas one (wasn't too sure about that, but I love it) that you use wing-nuts to assemble. We put it together and oh-my-gosh it was HUGE! Decided to take off one of the leg sections to make it shorter. Much better now, and we never would have been able to do that with a standard wood shed. And we can move it to our next place too. Good stuff.
- I was informed last Wednesday that my contract wasn't going to be renewed for next year. I now have a month to find another job. Surprisingly, I'm not too freaked out about the whole thing. Earlier in the day (before I got the news) I was thinking that I should start looking into something else. I haven't been doing much at work and I seemed kinda superfluous. Checking online there are currently quite a few positions that I'm qualified for so hopefully with my amazing sounding resume' I'll get a few interviews and a job offer. One can hope.
- Over Memorial Day weekend we were able to go rock climbing! I was emailed by my husband on Friday asking if I was interested in climbing and camping. "Umm...okay". So off we went on Saturday morning at 6am for the 3hr drive to the climbing rock. It was tons of fun- getting away from everything and trying something new. And I didn't do too shabby either.
- My scalp is peeling. It does NOT look hot.
