"A Gallup poll released this week shows that 39 percent of Americans say they "believe in the theory of evolution," while a quarter say they do not believe in the theory, and another 36 percent don't have an opinion either way.
This follows an earlier Gallup poll on the issue, conducted last May, that found only 14 percent of Americans believe that humans developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life. Forty-four percent believe that God created human beings almost overnight within the past 10,000 years, and another 36 percent believe that God guided humans' evolution from animals over a much longer period of time." Really?! Wow. People need to get educated.

Mudroom madness!
More home improvements. And for some reason this mudroom was driving me bonkers.
So this is an addition onto our 1920 home. Probably put on in the 50s. How do people live with this stuff for FIFTY years?! Does it not drive anyone else insane?! I don't see how it couldn't. Every time I would walk back there I would just get grossed out about this area that looked so uncompleted.
So I decided to complete it (at least to the best of my (limited) abilities). Lots of mud was applied to the mudroom walls.
All of these cracks were filled in and the whole thing was primed and painted. Oh My Goodness does it look TONS better. Man. It's really amazing how some paint and effort makes a huge difference.
The base boards are up next.

It's definitely a seasonal activity, but knitting is quite relaxing- especially while watching sports. One of my friends convinced me to finally knit a hat. Really not that complicated, just have to have the right supplies (which aren't that expensive). And scarves are a always a good thing to go back to. But I have found that I love my large needles with floofy thread. I don't seem to have the patients to knit one project for too long.
I'd like to knit some socks or gloves in the near future, but I don't see how that's going to happen with the above mentioned problem. I guess I'll just stay with my scarves and hats. Seems to be working well so far.
And we just won't mention that huge blanket project waiting in the office closet.
