I updated my FB status to say that today was a baking day. And boy oh boy did I bake.
1. White bread. My recipe made two loaves. And it was crazy good!
2. Roasted veggies. Potatoes and carrots with just some salt.
3. Sugar cookies. Found this recipe awhile ago and it is sooo yummy (and easy).
4. Red Pasta with chicken bake. Made this thing up. Husband likes it.
5. Chicken with jam glaze. Also has some balsamic and pepper involved.
6. Pasta to go with number five.
Yummy! And I only had to run to the store four times. Good thing it's not that far away. ha.
Tomorrow's schedule will be more haus-frau things.
Off to have some sugar cookies!

The Prez
Obama overturned an order signed by President Bush in 2001 that barred the National Institutes of Health from funding research on embryonic stem cells beyond using 60 cell lines that existed at that time.
In Obama's recent speech to Congress, the president said the United States will double its supply of renewable energy in three years. To do so, he's calling on a new class of workers to be trained in environmental fields. Green jobs training programs will get $500 million from his stimulus package.
By 2025, the Obama administration hopes one-fourth of the nation's energy will come from renewable sources. Over the long term, the president hopes to create millions of new jobs by investing $150 billion in taxpayer money to help private companies develop new sources of clean energy, such as wind, solar and geothermal power.
(CNN's Azadeh Ansari contributed to this report.)
Being a scientist myself this is pretty sweet! I really think that Obama is leading us in the right direction. It could seem pretty harsh at the moment, with all of us not having any money, but waiting around isn't going to solve anything and if you're going to act, you might as well do it now. Don't know if this will change my research, but really, it will help the whole field. Woo!
So happy with the new guy.
